Hello! I will put up a proper blog post soon, it's been a fairly chilled weekend, Jasmin has left for a trek and to go home. I had a nosebleed a couple of days ago after skipping straight into a small Peruvian door - it felt like a bar whacked me right across the face! We're getting to know the boys and their characters more, and hope to get some work in the village at the local nursery next week as the mornings are pretty quiet here. Our immune systems are kicking in at the moment and we're both with colds and I feel like I have hayfever which is a bit odd!
Since Azul Wasi seems to get no post at all, above is the address of the director, and he will pass it on!
Missing England for the first time today! :( I think just because a bit under the weather. Peru won a football match against Canada last night. We had a leaving party on Saturday for Jasmin with lots of 'torta' (cake!) and games. The food is quite fun, we have these strange Andean vegetables and last night a milky thing called something like Quichea (no idea how to spell it!). People in Oropesa talk in Quechua, although they understand Spanish, so am trying to learn some properly. So far I can count to three, call someone a 'crazy potato' and scream 'cuna' which means beetle, which the younger boys always chase me with, they're huuuuuuuge and black and gross... so not much, the word hello is 'Napaykullayki' so really finding it hard to remember the long words, they're so different to everything I know!
The showers are freezing, the coca tea has been joined on the table by coca jam, the boys work hard and are great. The Oropesa bread is awesome! I will put a proper post up soon!
Miss y'all, ly xxxxxxx
