Exercise freak

HEY!!! Here goes a blogspot for the end of May :)

Work has been great recently. Whilst poor Tanya has been having some problems in Sonrisa with the tutoras (the ladies in charge) having authority battles and arguing (though they seem to have finally patched things up after a staff spiritual retreat this weekend), life i Nino Jeus has got better and better.

Recently I was transformed into the Virgen Mary by 2 four year olds arranging bedsheets over me I was trying to fold. They then proceeded to bow, sing adoration songs and take it in turns to be baby Jesus. It was very funny and had to pinch myself that it was really happening!

Jeanette and I after finishing, notice the medals!

The next bit of news is that my time for the half-marathon was 2:28:07 :) Not too bad! I ran the first 4 km with Jeanette and then she went off ahead. At 10km I had a huge "Ahhhhh no I can't do this, been ill for far too long, what am I doing" moment but I didn't stop running and during the last 3km, after half a banana from a road side stall (the people of Lima were out in force offering us snacks and drinks!) I had a burst of energy and sprinted the last 3km.

Tanya's marvellous sign

Me and Jeanette plus San Felix pabellón boys
Our seats were not tooooooo bad!

Recently we went to a Paul McCartney concert! The orphanage was donated 80 tickets so the two eldest pabellones plus some staff (and the volunteers!) got to go. The boys, not knowing any of the songs, found it a big boring but the stadium was packed and overall the night was a success. We got back at 2pm!

Looooove, Rach xxxxxxx
